The Amrita Sen Textile and Print Collection is inspired by the illustrated books that Amrita has published over the last 10 years. Starting with the illustrated book BollyDoll, the story of two princess sisters, then followed up by Cosmic and Eternal Love, the story of Radha and Krishna, and most recently Awakened: The Story of Buddha’s Wife, Amrita has brought many of her illustrations to the contemporary mediums of textiles and wall art.

Fairytale Re-Imagined
Cosmic and Eternal Love is the second title that Amrita published. The book was launched through Barnes and Noble and contained a musical CD that followed the narrative of the story of Radha and Krishna.
Cosmic and Eternal Love takes the reader on the journey of Radha, who is unfamiliar with the concept of love. We come across the boy Krishna and then later the man. At each stage, Cosmic and Eternal Love depicts the beauty of that area and provides endless inspiration for our motifs, prints and color schemes.

CONTEMPORARY. EXOTIC. EASTERN.
The Serendipity Room look combines various elements from Amrita’s published books as well as patterns found in classical settings of India. The mix of muted yellows and blues creates a calming feeling while exposing the floral and geometric prints found in most modern homes.

About the shop
My name is Amrita Sen and I am an Indian artist, musician, and story teller. My parents immigrated from Kolkata, India, when I was 4 years old. I started singing at a very early age. And I really loved to draw and paint. As an immigrant kid, I always knew that it was my job to make money. However, I always wondered what it would be like to be a professional singer and to commercialize my art.
